On the serious side … I am thankful for the grace to believe in a living God who purchased my salvation and cares for my concerns every day both practical and spiritual … and for my children and grandchildren, and for honest, funny, loyal friends, and for my health

on the fun side … I am thankful for fresh crab (my favorite food), oyster dressing (which I am making this week), homemade vanilla ice cream and fresh pecan pie – can you tell I am looking forward to tomorrow?

on the reality (?) side … I am thankful for Austen Inspired Authors! Since I began reading these stories 4 years ago they have enriched my life in a real way, not just by the content of the stories and the lessons they impart, but by the delightful, clever, sincere women and men I have met that write and read these stories. I honestly consider them a blessing – and it’s a good thing, because many hours a week are devoted to this ‘passion’ of mine.

Pecan pie! I love it and never make it/buy it for the holidays. Why is that.

Thanks so much for the kind words, Jan. There are times when a writers struggles alone and feels pretty sure that no one will ever read the work or care much even after it’s out in the world.

Again, I’m thankful for the thoughtful readers who stop by JSI.

I am thankful for my children and grandchildren, for my family in Scotland, Ireland and England. Also for my family and friends here in the good old USA. I am also thankful for writers like you , who give us the readers , the pleasure of escaping reality for a few hours. God Bless you and yours and Happy holiday weekend too!!!!

I’m thankful for readers, especially those who let us know they read our stories. I’m thankful for my family and friends. I’m thankful that I’m fairly healthy.

I’m really thankful that God loves me in spite of myself.

Amen to that. Black Friday is just another day after around here. Bill’s off so we’re eating leftovers and watching the tube. How uninspiring!

Jan, Sarah, Robin … I find myself thankful for the Internet. For otherwise I would never have met you! Nor would I have mustered the courage to begin writing in the first place.

For Susan, what can I say? As broke homeschooling moms we met through a mutual friend at a park … and have been friends ever since. For sure without you I would never have written a word of fiction. You gave (and continue to give) me grace and encouragement.

I’m at the airport, heading to sunny California for a nephew’s wedding, with the song “Sunrise, Sunset” playing in my mind. The years speed by.

Yesterday’s dinner is housed in tupperware for my (sleeping) sons, my kitchen is clean, and my bags are packed. And yes, as I sit here in the concourse lobby, it’s raining … what else in Portland? Sunny and 85 degrees in California … yippee! Tomorrow my vitamin E won’t come from a bottle! πŸ™‚

Have a blessed holiday weekend, friends. Thank you for being part of our family here at JSI.

LOL, I helped to create Laura Hile, the write who eclipses me at practically every turn. We’ve kept one another going hope, stubborn pride, a certain amount of condescension about writers in general, and a need to be artistic specifically.

Have a good time at the wedding, and take notes. Weddings are the fertile seedbed of great fiction!

Why yes, we DO want a piece of your mind. ;-)
