I’m Late …

I was supposed to blog yesterday but that didn’t happen. Obviously.

www.cialis.com 2014-1-16 10 8 49My only observation on life at the moment is: the target audience of the CBS show, Criminal Minds, are males with … problems. Practically every break featured Viagra and Cialis commercials.

No one wants to watch those with their kids in the room. No matter how mature and educated we all are!

That’s all I’ve got.

Take care–Susan Kaye

Those commercials are pure male fantasy. It’s the Marlboro Man all over again–rugged, outdoorsy, and loaded with sex appeal. I hate cigarettes, but I’d rather see a man puffing his lungs out, astride his horse and working the range. Instead, we see the Viagra Guy exchanging glances with a female companion who is gorgeous … and a shade younger.

It’s the same old story, isn’t it, girls? She’s enjoying a comfortable walk along the beach with him, deep in conversation about things that matter to her. He seems like he’s listening, but we know he’s drugged up and ready, waiting for “when the moment is right.” Like a stalker.

Yes, when that Viagra theme song twangs its opening notes, I switch the channel.

I hate, hate, hate those commercials. I hate the ones for feminine products, too. Invariably, if my son-in-law or younger daughter’s boyfriend are watching TV with us, one of those stupid commercials will come on.

I have a particular hate for the contingency fee lawyer commercials. Pelvic floor collapse suits scrounging for clients, psychotropics that cause the male user to develop breasts. Now it’s Pseudobulbar Affect (PBA) with sudden laughing or crying. When is there going to be something for my sudden onset rage at pseudo pharmacological brainwashing?

LOLOL, Susan. You bet there’s a cause for your rage, and when you find out what it is, you should definitely sue!

Although there’s a downside to lawsuits. We once lived in a small mountain community, and one of the new residents took our property owners’ association to court. (The entire development belonged to this association). It seems these people wanted to paint their house bright white, a violation of the CC&Rs. They won the right to do that, and a $150,000 settlement for their trouble from the association. Yes, we had an increase in the yearly assessment. And then these people wondered why many snubbed them.

I’m not worried about being snubbed. Besides, who would snub me if I were to strike a blow for the annoyed and the rage filled?

I avoid these delights by not watching television…except that since the Oregon Ducks have become a football force I have, very oddly, become a football fan, where Cialis and Viagra are much more of a problem than feminine hygiene products (which I recall being on even when I was in high school and it was very embarrassing!). And what’s with the two people sitting side-by-side in separate old-fashioned bathtubs…outside on a deck? That is just weird! You would think that putting them (in their swimsuits) sitting side-by-side in a hot tub would be more symbolic of their message…

I still have no idea about the two tubs. I think it’s one of those inside jokes that cool kids in high school are always giggling about.

I am not now cool, or ever have been cool.
