A Little Bit O’ Heaven

This picture has been around for over a decade. I still love it. The only improvement would be to swap out these trailers for Airstreams.

As a sidenote, this is not meant to be a segue to Robin Helm’s Southern Fried Austen post coming Thursday. I’m just a redneck who appreciates the success of My People.

Here in the greater Portland area, we continue to marvel at how rents have skyrocketed–yes, increases of $200 – $500 a month are fairly common, leaving twenty-somethings scrambling. Often that childhood bedroom, even at $400 per month, looks better and better.

But this solution is better still. And we don’t have tornadoes. Earthquakes? That’s another story.

    Thanks for the smiles.

I think hanging them like those giant swings at amusement parks might be the answer to the earthquake problem. Or put them on giant springs, safe distances apart. There must be a solution.

Rednecks are all over the country. That’s not just a Southern thing. By the way, we refer to the arrangement in the picture as a “red neck condo.”

Oh yeah, Redneckkidness is everywhere. Years ago I saw Jeff Foxworthy of you might be a redneck if fame, being interviewed by Lauren Hutton, a gorgeous woman who was one of the first super models to parley it into a movie career. She grew up in Mississippi, loved noodling catfish with her brothers, and said that rednecks are in every culture, in every part of the world, and were the truest of nonconformists. I like that.

I think the Kardashians are actually rednecks. They just have huge wads of cash and that means better materials to work with.

Why yes, we DO want a piece of your mind. ;-)
