Why is it …

in the summer, when it finally cools down,
the thermometer reads 60-something, I’m perfectly happy
sitting around in short sleeves and barefeet?

flip flopsSM

But, in winter when the thermostat reads 60-something,
I dress as if I’m taking the serum to Nome by dogsled?

It just happened again this morning when I woke up. The window fan was blowing 57 degree air over me and I was covered with only a sheet. I was feeling warm In the winter, I would have at lest three blankets on the bed, warm PJs, and maybe my robe spread over me.

Is summer another dimension in which temperature is interpreted differently by our bodies?!?

I turn 58 next month. My thermostat has been haywire for about 2.5 years now. But even when things were working relatively well, this phenom was still something I wondered about.
