Summer Travel is Pleasant

Monday, Laura Hile, Pamela Aidan, and myself met in Boardman, Oregon. We didn’t choose it because it’s a nice little town but because it’s halfway between Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and Portland, Oregon.

This is the selfie from our afternoon together.

The waitress hovered a little but we took up the table for quite some time. There was no one else in the dining room of the River Lodge and Grill, but raucous Janites can cause a lot of damage if left unattended. Caution is best in these cases.

Are you travelling this summer? Where are you headed? Can we come too?

By-the-bye, I’ve posted a new installment of Captain Wentworth’s Romance and Travel at Beyond Austen. Winter ravel can be pleasant as well. 😉

Three hours driving beats three hours flying! Why didn’t we think to take a selfie? Our kids would have remembered.

Anyway, we three met on an Austen fiction board in, what, 1998 or 99? Sue flew across country to meet Pamela in Atlanta. A summer or two later, I came with her. Writing friends and comrades, we’ve been cheering for one another ever since.

In 2000, the dream of being published brought only smiles. We’ve come a long way.

Why yes, we DO want a piece of your mind. ;-)
